DeKalb Pair Indicted for Shooting 70-Year-Old Woman
Prosecutors say the woman was shot twice while defending herself during a home invasion near Lake Lanier.

CUMMING, GA -- A pair of Decatur residents have been indicted by a grand jury for a February 2015 home invasion near Lake Lanier during which they allegedly twice shot an elderly woman trying to defend herself.
The Forsyth County News reports that Corey Sinclair Waithe, 26, and Samira Raheema Young, 29, face seven charges each, including aggravated assault, aggravated battery, first-degree burglary and theft by taking.
They are accused of breaking into a home on Magnolia Avenue, northeast of Cumming, on February 2, 2015. When confronted by the 70-year-old homeowner, indictment documents say, they shot her in the stomach and arm.

The woman survived but loss the use of her intestines and hip, the documents say.
Waithe and Young also face charges stemming from a second burglary that happened that day.
