Deputies: Cumming Business Burglarized, Suspect in Custody

Authorities say the suspect was wearing clothing from the store and was bleeding from the hand at the time of his arrest.

A man is in custody at the Forsyth County jail after being arrested Monday morning on suspicion of breaking into a business in Cumming and stealing several items inside.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to a security alarm at a business on Majors Road near Ronald Reagan Boulevard at approximately 2:30 a.m. Monday. Just before he arrived at the scene, he noticed a man walking along the side of the road who aroused his suspicions.

The Sheriff’s Office says that deputy approached the man and began talking with him, but quickly noticed his hand was bleeding and he was wearing clothing that was sold at the victimized business. He was also carrying other items that may have been stolen from the store, officials said.

Other deputies arrived at the burglarized business and discovered broken glass on the premises and located items for sale inside which matched the items the man with the bleeding hand had in his possession, the Sheriff’s Office says.

The man, identified as Jean Carlo Urena Aponte, 29, was arrested and charged with burglary, the Sheriff’s Office says. Forsyth County jail records indicate that Aponte remains incarcerated.
