Deputy Struck By Car Outside Cumming School

The deputy sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries.

A Forsyth County sheriff’s deputy was struck and seriously injured by a car while directing traffic outside a school Monday morning, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office says.

The deputy, who has not been named, was in front of Coal Mountain Elementary School when he was hit. He has been taken to the hospital for serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The driver who hit the deputy remained on the scene after the accident.
