
Historian and writer John W. Latty will be speaking to the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 1642 about his book A Fine Body of Athletic Soldiers: A History of the 7th Georgia Cavalry Regiment. His lecture is open to the public.
The Bell Research Center is located in the Historic Cumming School House in Cumming. Its library holds over 6,000 books specializing in Southern genealogy, culture, and history. It has a superb collection of books devoted to the Civil War and Georgia county records. Family historians are welcome to use the resources of the library from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Sons of the Confederacy Hiram Parks Bell Camp 1642 meet at the research center on the third Monday night of every month at 7:00 PM.
