Father Kills Man Who Shot His Daughter: Police

The shooting happened early Sunday morning in Gainesville, according to Hall County Sheriff's Office officials.

GAINESVILLE, GA β€” A Gainesville man shot and killed his daughter's boyfriend Sunday after the boyfriend shot the woman in the back during an argument, authorities say.

The shootings happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday at a home on Jet Wright Road in Gainesville, according to Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Scott Ware.

After executing a search warrant at the home, investigators say they learned that Thomas McNutly, 25, shot his 22-year-old girlfriend in the back following an argument. The victim's father, who also lives at the home, then shot and killed McNutly, they say.
