Former Forsyth Sheriff's Spokesman Charged With Sexual Assault

CUMMING, GA β€” A former spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a minor.

Frank Augustus Huggins, 69, of Cumming, was arrested at his home Tuesday and taken to Forsyth County Jail, according to the sheriff's office.

He is charged with sexual battery and sexual assault against a minor.

Huggins is accused of attempting to grope a teenage girl multiple times while she was driving, in his capacity as a driving instructor, Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez said in a news release.

Detectives say they confirmed the victim’s allegations using video and audio evidence from camera footage recovered from inside the vehicle, the release says.

Appointed by former Sheriff Tex Paxton, Huggins served at the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office from 2001-2010. He retired as a captain.
