Forsyth Commissioners to Hold Public Hearing on Amendment to Sign Ordinance

If approved, the amendment will only affect signs alongside Ga. 400. The hearing will be next week in Cumming.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is seeking public comment on a proposed change to the county sign ordinance which would affect some signage along Ga. 400.

According to information on the county’s website, the amendment would allow signs along the route which do not comply with current ordinances and stand more than 75 feet above the ground to be reduced in height without penalty to stand under 75 feet above the ground. Under the ordinance currently on the books, these signs cannot be altered or enlarged in any way.

Forsyth residents and business owners who wish to speak on the proposed change can do so at a public hearing which will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. at the Forsyth County Administration Building located at 110 E Main St. in Cumming.
