Mark your calendars for September 26th from 11 am to 3 pm Brook Run Park, 4770 N Peachtree Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338, for the largest gathering of dachshunds in the southeast! Howl-O-Weenie is hosted by DREAM Dachshund Rescue. This family fun event is our biggest in-person fundraiser of the year and we’d love for you to join us for a day filled with Howls and prizes.
We’ll have dachshund races, a costume contest with a kids’ category, howling and kissing competitions. All ages and breeds are welcome, so come on down and let’s celebrate our furry friends.
Shop our marketplace of local vendors selling dog-themed goodies, grab a bite from our food trucks, and enjoy a pint of local brew. You can also pick up some DREAM swag, including t-shirts and pint glasses designed by a talented DREAM adopter!
Come early and stay a while chilling to music and delight in all the dachshund fun.

Fall is the best time to plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and certain vegetables.* Come to the Hall County Master Gardeners Fall Garden Expo and find a tremendous variety of beautiful healthy plants and garden-related products. Find azaleas, hydrangeas, camellias, Japanese maple and redbud trees, evergreens, native plants, bulbs, plus garden art, locally produced artisanal garden-related items such as honey, jams, soaps, wreaths, wood products, and houseplants. Visit a record number of vendors for this autumn event -- 53 vendors have reserved 62 booths.Admission is $2 per person and kids 12 and under are admitted free. Friday, Sept 25 hours are 8:30 AM to 5 PM; Saturday, Sept 26 hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
We offer a "purchase and hold" service so attendees can make several tours around the arena. Consider bringing your own cart or wagon to avoid a wait for our loaners. This is a rain or shine event under the covered arena. Plenty of Handicapped parking too. Food trucks will be on site.&nbsp;
No pets are allowed. Only service animals that meet ADA requirements will be allowed entry.
The Ask A Master Gardener table will be staffed throughout the event by experts to answer your gardening questions. Be sure to stay for the educational sessions offered at 11 AM and 1 PM each day. (Watch our website for details.) Listen for Door Prize announcements every hour.

Watch for signs and banners on Calvary Church Rd. indicating a new traffic pattern for Friday and Saturday. All traffic will turn onto New Harvest Rd. to enter the Arena grounds. Watch for volunteers directing you. This change is to eliminate backups on Calvary Church Rd. We appreciate your cooperation!
* Why is Fall the best time to plant? The heat of summer is over, and with it the stress on your new plants. Fall plantings will have time to establish themselves and their root systems before winter sets in. Then you will be set to enjoy your garden additions when they burst forth in spring. Vegetables such as kale, collard greens, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, mustard greens, and spinach thrive in the cooler weather. The leafy vegetables can be planted in the ground or in containers.

Celebrate the opening concert of Music Milton’s Season Two with the sounds of genius composer Mozart in a beautiful, intimate venue.&nbsp;Come hear the finest of professional performers in an intimate setting in Milton, Georgia. Mozart's dramatic G Minor Piano Quartet, a String Quartet and the Clarinet Quintet, one of the Crown Jewels of the Chamber Music repertoire, will demonstrate the wide range of his genius.
WORLD-CLASS MUSICIANS:
Laura Ardan, retired Principal Clarinet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra returns back to Atlanta to join&nbsp;the international award-winning Vega Quartet along with Music Milton’s Artistic Director, pianist William Ransom.

BIOS:
Laura Ardan: One of the United States’ most respected clarinetists, Laura Ardan recently retired from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra after serving as principal clarinet for 39 years, holding the endowed Robert Shaw Chair. In 2018 Ardan was awarded the Mabel Dorn Reeder Honorary Chair by the ASO. She has been a featured soloist in works by Mozart, Weber, Debussy, Copland, Bernstein, Finzi, Rossini, Shaw, and Michael Gandolfi.
Always an active chamber musician, Ms. Ardan has played and recorded regularly with the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta, the Atlanta Chamber Players and the Georgian Chamber Players. She has performed with the Cleveland and Vega Quartets. While a student at The Juilliard School, Ardan performed frequently with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, was the resident clarinetist and teaching artist at the Lincoln Center Institute for four years and was a guest artist in “Emanuel Ax Invites...” on the Great Performers series at Lincoln Center.
Busy summer schedules have included performances at Tanglewood, Marlboro, Mostly Mozart, Grand Teton, Santa Fe Chamber, Highlands-Cashiers, Hamptons, Amelia Island, and Bellingham Festivals, and the Aspen Music Festival and School.
The Vega String Quartet, Quartet-in-Residence at Emory University, is cultivating a new generation of chamber music lovers through dynamic performances and innovative community engagement. The New York Times raved that "[the Quartet’s] playing had a kind of clean intoxication to it, pulling the listener along…the musicians took real risks in their music making" and the L.A. Times praised their “triumphant L.A. debut.”&nbsp;Winners of four of the top six prizes at the Bordeaux String Quartet Competition, including the International Critics Prize, the Vega Quartet tours extensively throughout Europe, Asia and North America.
Their live broadcast credits include NPR’s Performance Today, WABE’s City Lights, as well as Radio France, National Radio of China and the National Radio of the Czech Republic. The Vega Quartet has appeared at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Royal Academy of Music in London, Musée d’Orsay in Paris, Vienna’s Musikverein and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, among others. The Vega Quartet performs frequently at numerous music festivals, including Amelia Island, Highlands-Cashiers, Juneau Jazz &amp; Classics, Sitka Summer Music, Brevard and Kneisel Hall.&nbsp;
Pianist, Artistic Director, master teacher, editor, and judge for international competitions, William Ransom has appeared around the world as soloist with orchestras, recitalist, and chamber musician. He regularly collaborates with leading musicians including Yo-Yo Ma, Richard Stoltzman, David Shifrin, William Preucil, Stephen Isserlis, Cho-Liang Lin, and members of the Emerson, Tokyo, Cleveland, Juilliard, American, St. Petersburg, Borromeo, Parker, Ariel, Lark, Dover, Vega, Dali, and Attacca String Quartets.
Ransom is the Mary Emerson Professor of Music at Emory University where he is founder and Artistic Director of the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta. A graduate of The Juilliard School, in the summers, Ransom is Artistic Director of the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival and for a decade was an artist-faculty member at the Kamisaibara Pianists Camp in Japan. In 2016 he was named Artistic Director of the Juneau Jazz and Classics Festival and also one of Musical America Worldwide's “30 Musical Innovators.” In 2022 he was appointed Artistic Director of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, and in 2024 Chamber Music America awarded him the “Community Impact/Presenter of the Year” prize.
