Commissioners joined nearly 2,000 other leaders in Washington, D.C. for the National Association of Counties annual Legislative Conference.

CUMMING, GA -- Forsyth County Commissioners Dennis Brown, Todd Levent and Cindy Jones Mills joined nearly 2,000 other county leaders in Washington, D.C. for the National Association of Counties annual Legislative Conference (NACo) March 2-6. The commissioners met with members of the president’s administration and Congress on key issues.

While in Washington, D.C., the commissioners also participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. The commissioners were invited to participate in the event by the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG). Since 2011, ACCG has invited the attending Georgia officials at NACo to share in the somber and respectful tradition of laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The ACCG wreath, presented annually, is composed of 159 red and white carnations signifying all Georgia counties.
