Forsyth County Mailed Incorrect Tax Assessments
Revised letters are on their way, the Forsyth County Tax Assessors Office says.

CUMMING, GA -- If you recently received a letter from Forsyth County assessing the value of your home or other property and estimating how much in taxes you'll owe, there's a good chance it was wrong.
The Forsyth County Tax Assessors Office said Wednesday that tax estimates on recently mailed letters are incorrect due to some missing county millage rates not showing up on the notices.
The property valuations in the letters are correct, the county said. But the assessment of how much tax will be owed is not.

The county plans to send corrected letters out soon.
"We have assessed the situation and determined the best and most reasonable way to resolve this error is to mail revised Annual Notice of Assessment letters to taxpayers," Mary Kirkpatrick, director of the Forsyth County Tax Assessors Office, said in a news release.
