Forsyth County Man Killed In Francis Road Vehicle Crash
A 58-year-old Forsyth County man died Wednesday after his car was involved in a head-on collision along Francis Road.
FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — A man from Forsyth County died Wednesday after he was involved in a head-on collision.
Just after noon on July 9, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and the Forsyth County Fire Department responded to a two vehicle crash near 3445 Francis Road in south Forsyth County.
The investigation at this point has determined that a 2003 Honda Civic, operated by Franklin Hawkins, 58, of Forsyth County, was traveling east on Francis Road. At the same time, a 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor operated by Jeffery Lamkin, 50, of Alpharetta, was traveling west on Francis Road. The Honda Civic crossed into the westbound lane and collided with the Ford F-150.

According to Corporal Andy Ives, Traffic Investigator with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Hawkins was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Lamkin was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit.
