Forsyth County Schools Calendar 2017-18

CUMMING, GA — Summer flies by quickly, and back-to-school is right around the corner. Here’s the 2017-18 school calendar for Forsyth County Schools.

The first day of school is Aug. 3. Pre-planning for teachers begins July 27. The first semester will end Dec. 21, followed by a two-week winter break.

First Semester

• July 27-28, 31: Teacher pre-planning
• August 1-2: Pre-planning.
• August 3: First day of school
• August 30: Early release (K-12), professional development
• September 4: Labor Day (No school)
• September 25-29: Fall break
• October 18-19: Early release/parent conferences (K-8)
• October 20: Professional development (student holiday)
• November 20-24: Thanksgiving holiday (no school)
• December 21: End of first semester
• December 22-29: Holiday break (no school)
• January 1-4: Holiday break (no school)

Second Semester

• January 5: Professional development (student holiday)
• January 15: MLK Jr. Day (no school)
• February 16: Student/staff holiday
• February 19: President's Day (student/staff holiday)
• February 20: Professional development (student holiday)
• March 9: Early release/parent conferences (K-12)
• April 2-6: Spring break (no school)
• May 25: Last day of school
• May 28: Memorial Day
• May 29-30: Post-planning/professional development
