Forsyth County Schools Closing Early Wednesday

A winter storm threatens to bring snow and freezing rain to the area.

CUMMING, GA -- Forsyth County public schools will close early on Wednesday, due to winter weather threatening the region.

The school system made the announcement on its Facebook page among other venues.

According to the school system’s schedule for early release, elementary schools categorized as “Elementary I” will let out at 11:50 a.m. and “Elementary II” schools will close at 12:30 p.m.

Middle-schoolers will be released at 1:30 p.m. and high schools will let out at 12:55 p.m.

Forsyth’s “Elementary I” schools are Big Creek, Brookwood, Chattahoochee, Chestatee, Coal Mountain, Cumming, Haw Creek, Kelly Mill, Matt, Settles Bridge, Sharon, Shiloh Point and Vickery Creek.

“Elementary II” schools are Daves Creek, Johns Creek, Mashburn, Midway, Sawnee, Silver City and Whitlow.
