Forsyth County Schools Named Title I Reward District
Only four school districts in the state of Georgia earned the award for consistent high performance.

Forsyth County Schools has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a Title I Reward District for its students’ high absolute performance on statewide assessments over the past three years.
According to a statement from Forsyth County Schools, the designation is awarded to large, medium, and small school districts. Only one school district in each category earns the award. Forsyth County Schools, with an enrollment of 42,371, earned the award for large school districts.
Students in Forsyth County met or exceeded the standards on statewide assessments at a 94.6 percent clip during the past three academic years. The average for large school districts over the same time period is 81.3 percent.

Oconee County Schools won the medium-sized district award, Jefferson City Schools won the small district award, and Chickamauga City Schools won the extra-small district award.
“We are enormously proud of these districts who are working, often against the odds, to improve education outcomes for their students,” State Superintendent Dr. John Barge said in a statement. “It is not easy work they are doing, but the impressive results speak for themselves.”
