Forsyth Drunk Driving Incident Costs Fulton Principal

The administrator was arrested after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in north Forsyth on Saturday night

The principal of Fulton County’s Milton High School has tendered his resignation following his arrest in Forsyth County on charges related to drunk driving.

Forsyth County News reports that Dr. Nathan Buhl is facing charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, striking an unattended vehicle, and failure to maintain his lane after he hit a parked car in a north Forsyth subdivision and left the area.

WSB-TV reports that upon arriving on scene, Forsyth sheriff’s deputies were given Buhl’s license plate number by a citizen. Deputies ran the number and learned Buhl’s car was registered in Cherokee County, and began coordinating with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office.

Cherokee deputies informed their Forsyth brethren that Buhl had wrecked his car in Cherokee County, and was now at a hospital. Forsyth deputies came to the hospital to visit Buhl, and determined that he had been intoxicated. Buhl was arrested by Forsyth and Cherokee counties and was held for three nights at the Forsyth County jail until posting a $8,525 bond.

Buhl’s resignation ends a short stay at Milton High School; he had just been hired as Milton’s principal in May, following a stint at Roswell’s Crabapple Middle School. Former Milton Principal Ron Tesch has been tapped to serve again in an interim capacity, WSB reports.
