Forsyth Fire Department Promotes 18 Firefighters

The Forsyth County Fire Department recently presented awards, promoted 18 personnel and swore in a new firefighter.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA -- The Forsyth County Fire Department presented awards, promoted 18 personnel and swore in a new firefighter during a ceremony held March 15. Family, friends and Fire Department staff attended the ceremony held in the Forsyth County Administration Building.

Awards were presented to personnel in the first portion of the ceremony. There were 12 Life Saved awards presented to Fire Department personnel in recognition of outstanding actions over the past several years.

“The Life Saved Awards are an opportunity for the Fire Department to highlight the decisive and
extraordinary efforts of our personnel that directly led to saving an individual’s life,” Division Chief Jason Shivers said in a release, who served as emcee for the ceremony.

In the swearing-in portion of the ceremony, one probationary firefighter officially became a Forsyth County firefighter:

“It is an honor to work with men and women that are dedicated to providing outstanding service every day,” Fire Chief Barry Head said in a release. “We, as a department, are proud to recognize the achievements and well-deserved promotions of our personnel.”
