CUMMING, GA — A man from Cumming was killed Tuesday when a van drifted across a median and into his lane, striking him head on.

Darin Curran, 52, was driving southbound on Mathis Airport Parkway near Mathis Airport Drive at 6:51 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. A Honda Odyssey van going north then drifted left and over a raised median, into the southbound lane where it hit Curran's 2008 BMW 135i.

The van was being driven by Viraraghavan Varadarajan, 58, of Cumming, and a child was in the passenger seat. Varadarajan was taken to a local hospital and the child was not injured, according to Deputy First Class Scott Collett.
