Forsyth Schools Announces Principal Appointments, Retirements
Two Forsyth County principals announced their retirement in June 2020, and two others announced their new school appointments.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Four Forsyth County principals have announced their retirements and appointments, respectively. All appointments and retirements are effective June 30, 2020.
Principal Appointments
East Forsyth High School (Opening August 2021)
Jeff Cheney, current principal of North Forsyth High School, came to Forsyth County Schools from Savannah-Chatham in 2006. Cheney served as a teacher, athletic director, assistant principal, and principal in Savannah-Chatham. At South Forsyth High School he served as an assistant principal and was promoted to principal in 2012. Cheney became the principal at North Forsyth High School in 2015.

Hendricks Middle School (Opening August 2021)
Cheryl Riddle, current principal of Liberty Middle School, began her 20-year career with Forsyth County in 1999 at Chattahoochee Elementary School as a special education teacher. She transferred to Liberty Middle School when it opened in 2002, taught at North Forsyth Middle School and served at the district level as a special education facilitator. Riddle served as an assistant principal at North Forsyth Middle School and Little Mill Middle School and became principal of Liberty Middle School in 2015.

Principal Retirements
Sandy Tinsley joined the Forsyth County Schools family as a science teacher at North Forsyth Middle School in 2001. She served as a quality work facilitator at Vickery Creek Middle School and assistant principal at Vickery Creek Middle School, Little Mill Middle School and Otwell Middle School. In 2009, Tinsely was named the principal of South Middle Middle School. During her 10-year tenure at South Forsyth Middle School, the school was named a Georgia School of Excellence, National Blue Ribbon School, and Lighthouse Schools to Watch.
Kim Head is a lifelong resident of Forsyth County and graduate of Forsyth County High School. She began teaching at South Forsyth High School in 1989 and worked as an Instructional Technology Specialist for South Forsyth High School, North Forsyth High School, and North Forsyth Middle School. In 2003, Head was named an administrative assistant at South Forsyth High School. She became an assistant principal at Forsyth Central High School in 2004, where she was instrumental in establishing the STEM Academy, the first of its kind in the system. Head was promoted to principal of Lakeside Middle School in 2016.
