Forsyth Schools' CCRPI Scores Among Best in the State

The 2016 numbers put Forsyth atop all other large school systems and in the top few spots for elementary, middle and high schools.

CUMMING, GA — The superlatives were plenty Thursday for Forsyth County schools, which scored among the very top in the state on Georgia's main school-performance test.

With a district-wide score of 92.5 out of 100, Forsyth had the highest score of any of the state's largest school systems on the 2016 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI).

The state Department of Education released scores from the testing on Thursday.

All public schools in Georgia are assessed using the CCRPI, which replaced No Child Left Behind testing in the state in 2012.

With a 92, Forsyth County also had the seventh-highest score in the state among high schools. The county's middle school score of 92.2 put it second in the state, the same ranking elementary schools got for an overall average of 90.7.

Statewide, the averages were 71.1 for elementary schools, 71.5 for middle schools and 75.7 for high schools.

Among the highlights for individual schools in Forsyth County:

  • Lambert High School tied for 9th place in the state with a score of 100.6.
  • Three middle schools finished high in state rankings — South Forsyth (No. 2), Riverwatch MS (No. 4) and Vickery Creek (No. 12)
  • Six elementary schools had noteworthy state scores — Johns Creek (No. 4), Sharon (No. 5), Daves Creek (No. 7), Big Creek (No. 8), Brookwood (No. 11) and Settles Bridge (No. 16)
