Forsyth Schools Tops State, Large Districts On GA Milestones

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Forsyth County Schools (FCS) has released its results of the 2019 Georgia Milestones, which include EOG (End of Grade) assessments for grades 3-8 and EOC (End of Course) assessments for grades 8/9-12 scores.

In Georgia, FCS had the highest scores for 8 areas:

• 4th Grade Math
• 5th Grade Math
• 5th Grade Social Studies
• 6th Grade ELA
• 6th Grade Math
• 7th Grade ELA
• 7th Grade Math
• Algebra I

Among large systems (over 1,000 students) in Georgia, FCS had the highest scores for 13 areas:

• 3rd ELA
• 3rd Math
• 4th ELA
• 5th ELA
• 5th Science
• 8th ELA
• 8th Math
• 8th Social Studies
• 9th Grade Lit
• American Lit
• Biology
• Economics
• Geometry

• 5 schools for 7th grade Math, with Riverwatch MS being No. 1
• 2 schools for 8th grade ELA, with South Forsyth MS being No. 1
• 3 schools for 8th grade Math combined EOG and EOC (Algebra I)
• 2 schools for 8th grade Science combined EOG and EOC (Physical Science)
• 2 schools for 8th grade Social Studies
• 1 school for American Lit 2 schools for Algebra I
• 2 schools for Geometry
• 1 school for US History
• 2 schools for Economics, with Lambert HS being No. 1

Students began taking Georgia Milestones assessments in 2014-15. The testing system is one comprehensive program across grades 3-12, which includes open-ended and technology-enhanced questions to better gauge students’ content mastery. Georgia Milestones assesses student learning along four levels of achievement: beginning, developing, proficient and distinguished.
