Forsyth Sheriff's Office "Fugitive Friday" Social Media Campaign Seeks Criminals on the Run

Authorities are hopeful that smart social media use can help track down some of the county's most wanted.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is taking to social media to raise awareness of some of their most wanted fugitives.

The office’s social media use and innovative ”Traffic Law Tuesday” awarness campaign was recently profiled by FOX 5 Atlanta. The Sheriff’s Office uses Twitter and Facebook to inform residents about traffic delays, laws of the road, breaking crime news, and more information geared to increase transparency and communication between law enforcement and the citizens they protect and serve.

Now, the Sheriff’s Office has added “Fugitive Friday” to their social media repertoire. Fugitive Friday highlights a person on the county’s most wanted list and provides information on the fugitive’s crimes, and asks for tips from people who may know where the wanted person is now hiding.
