Forsyth Students Top State on ACT Scores
It was the second year in a row Forsyth was the number-one district on the college-readiness tests.

CUMMING, GA — For the second year in a row, Forsyth County students topped the state on the college-readiness ACT assessment.
Forsyth students who took the test last year earned a composite score of 24.1, according to scores released this week.
The composite score for all Georgia students was 21.1 and the national composite was 20.8.

The ACT test assesses high school students’ general educational development and their ability to successfully complete college-level work.
The four skill areas that are covered with multiple choice tests are: English, mathematics, reading, and science.

An optional writing test also measures skill in planning and writing a short essay.
In Forsyth County, two high schools -- South Forsyth and Lambert -- were among the top 15 highest-scoring schools in the state.
South Forsyth had a compost score of 25 and Lambert scored a 24.9.
All five high schools in Forsyth County were above state and national averages.
