Here are the top stories in Cumming today:

  1. The Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit health care watchdog organization, released its Fall 2022 Hospital Safety Guidelines report with Northside Hospital Forsyth in Cumming receiving a grade of B. The Leapfrog Group graded nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide on more than 30 criteria of patient safety. The organization said its hospital grading system is the only one in the country that focuses solely on a hospital's ability to protect patients from preventable errors. (Patch)
  2. It's the most wonderful time of the year so Pieces & Peaches will be hosting a winter seasonal pop-up market at Cumming City Center Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The family friendly event will feature 80 unique local artisans and vendors. There will be live entertainment and activities for kids. It's rumored Santa may make an appearance too. The event is free. (Patch)
  3. Forsyth County and Cumming authorities still have not reached an agreement on how to split the nearly $60 million that will be generated from the 2023 Local Option Sales Tax. Both parties have until Dec. 31 to file their LOST agreement with the state of Georgia. Revenues are currently split with 87 percent going to the county and 13 percent going to the city.
