Health Care Workers Surprised With Free Lunch

One Cumming health care provider is thanking a local business for bringing their team a free lunch while they battle the coronavirus.

CUMMING, GA — Georgia Highlands Medical Service says they got a donation Wednesday that made their day: a surprise free lunch for all their staff who have been working overtime to battle the coronavirus outbreak.

The center says employees with Supermann Tree Service LLC showed up at their Cumming location yesterday with over a hundred lunches to feed every member of their staff. Health care workers at the center have been working with patients who have been infected with the coronavirus, but have to balance that along with all their regular patients and treatment. They say, a surprise gift like this makes that struggle a lot easier.

"All this kindness really does go a long way when we're going through these challenging and emotionally draining times" said Cheyanne Reyome, the Community Outreach Coordinator for Georgia Highlands.

The medical center says they're working overtime to do everything they can to help their community during the coronavirus outbreak, including televisits for patients who can't leave their homes, sourcing months of supplies for their regular patients with chronic illnesses, and even accepting patients regardless of whether or not they have health insurance.
