FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies were involved in a high speed chase of a stolen vehicle Thursday ending on I-285 near Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, according to the sheriff's office. Five arrests were made with charges including multiple burglaries, illegally entering autos and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Police dashcam video captured the chase after the Cumming Police Department began pursuit of five burglars in a stolen vehicle and ended with Forsyth deputies using the police Pursuit Intervention Technique to stop the vehicle on I-285. The five people inside the car then flee on foot across the interstate.
The P.I.T. maneuver is used to force a fleeing car to abruptly turn sideways, causing the driver to lose control and stop. Sandy Springs Police assisted in capturing the five who fled on foot.
