Homeowners Stalk Tenants By Recording Their Rented Bedroom
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has begun a formal stalking investigation after tenants reported their landlord recorded them changing.
CUMMING, GA -- A formal stalking investigation has begun by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office after tenants, who are renting a room in a house off Fieldgate Ridge Drive, reported their landlord started videotaping their bedroom, according to a police report.
Deputies arrived to the house in response to a dispute between the homeowners and tenants, both of whom have signed a written lease. The owners decided they no longer wanted the tenants in the home, so they filed for a formal eviction. Deputies said upon the first and second time they have responded to the house, all parties involved have been arguing over the living arrangements. On both occasions, the deputies told all involved to refrain from any contact.
Then on April 12, deputies again came to the house after the situation escalated. The tenants said in an incident report that one of the owners had begun to video record into their bedroom. They said the owner stood at the upstairs balcony and recorded down into the bedroom without permission. One of the tenants said she was changing clothes at that time and was partially nude.

In return, the tenants said they began to record the owner and had video of the owner standing at the top of the stairs with her phone recording the bedroom. The tenants said they told her to stop, but she did not. They told deputies they wanted to press charges.
The owner told deputies in a police report that she did begin record the tenants after they became loud and angry after deputies left the previous visit. She said she was recording them to "document their behavior," she said in the report.

Deputies viewed the video, and completed a stalking report based on the allegations made against the 47-year-old owner. The case has been forwarded to the Major Crimes unit for review.
