In Memoriam: Jerry Lee Elrod Sr., 77
Jerry started his very successful business, Elrod's Custom Drapery Work Room in 1965, working until retirement when he handed the company over to his children.
Jerry Lee Elrod Sr. of Cumming, GA died Friday, March 22, 2013. Born in Birmingham, AL, he is the son of the late Monroe and Lois Elrod. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Carol Atchinson.
Mr. Elrod served his country as a Seaman in the US Navy from 1955 – 1957. He married his loving wife, Frances Annette Couch of Winfield, AL on March 22, 1962. Before retiring to Cumming, the couple lived in Roswell. Jerry started his very successful business, Elrod’s Custom Drapery Work Room in 1965, working until retirement when he handed the company over to his children.
He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Elrod of Cumming; son, Lee (Gretchen) Elrod, Jr. of Norcross; daughter, Casey (Skip) Mangum of Cumming; daughter, Amy (Richard) Perdew of Ball Ground, GA; brother, Jim (Dale) Elrod of Birmingham, AL; sister, Joan (Clyde) Atchinson of Birmingham, AL; brother, Michael Elrod of Iowa; brother-in-law, Dr. Robert (Gibbs) Couch of Auburn, AL; dear friend, Cain Harris of Cumming; grandchildren, Hunter, Ashlyn, Rachel, Justin; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services were held on Sunday, March 24 at McDonald & Son Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations in Jerry Elrod’s name to the American Lung Association.
