Her sister Delphine Hancock and grandson James Nations predeceased her. Her husband of 47 years and the father of her children, Glenn Jacobson, also preceded her in death. Together they created a home in Dunwoody and later on Lake Lanier where they trained and showed dogs.

She had many hobbies including Bridge, gourmet cooking, tennis and bowling, but her true passion was her love of dogs. Together Wanda and Glenn created Glenwan Retrievers. She bred, trained, and competed with both flat-coated and golden retrievers in agility, obedience and conformation including the prestigious Westminster dog show. She had several dogs who were certified therapy dogs, including Lightning, who comforted her during her final days.
