Here are the top three stories in and around Cumming today:

  1. How does two full days of food, fun and music while perusing new lines of clothing, jewelry and home décor sound? Well, 20 Degrees South is hosting its annual Labor Day Market event at 205 Pilgrim Mill Road today and Sunday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. There will be a variety of local vendors on hand with one-of-a-kind gifts. (Facebook Events)
  2. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp issued an executive order Thursday extending the temporary suspension of the state sales tax on gasoline and other motor fuels that has been in effect since March. The latest extension runs through Oct. 12. Since that first suspension of the tax, the average price of gasoline in Georgia has remained among the lowest in the nation and is currently 46 cents per gallon below the national average, according to AAA. (Athens Banner-Herald)
  3. Are you ready for some football? The reigning champion Georgia Bulldogs kick off their 2023 campaign against No. 11 ranked Oregon Ducks today at 3:30 p.m. in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Ranked No. 3 in the preseason, the Dawgs come in as a 17-point favorite. Hard to believe but the last time these two teams played each other was in 1977. Georgia won 27-16. (ESPN)
