Local Actress to Star in Ruthless! at Act3 Playhouse

Act3 Productions in Sandy Springs will open its 2015-16 season with Ruthless! September 18 through October 3.  The show is a comic through the worlds of Broadway, child actors, stage moms, and blind ambition.  Local actress Sarah Carroll, has been cast as Tina Denmark, an adorable, talented eight year old who turns into a ruthless diva.  Sarah shares the role with Rosslyn Milne of Milton.  Sarah can be seen as Tina on Industry Night September 17, September 19, 26 and October 2.  Tickets are available at www.act3productions.org.

Known as “fun for the whole dysfunctional family,” the musical is a spoof of Broadway shows, such as Gypsy and Mame, and films such as The Bad Seed and All About Eve.  With book and lyrics by Joel Paley and music by Norman Laird, the show became a cult classic during its first off-Broadway run.  A revival has been running off-Broadway since the summer.

Sarah, a veteran of several Act3 productions, has been seen at Serenbe Playhouse, The Aurora Theater, and the Horizon Theater.  Act3 offers a full season of plays and musicals.  The Act3 Arts Academy offers classes, workshops, and performance opportunities for students in grades kindergarten through 12.
