"Love Letters" Opens Thursday at Cumming Playhouse

The production tells the story of childhood friends who share their lives with one another as they grow older.

If you haven’t yet made plans for your big Valentine’s Day date, get a pair of tickets for the Cumming Playhouse’s upcoming production of A.R. Gurney’s ”Love Letters.”

The two-actor play tells the story of the lives of childhood friends Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, two children of privilege who grow up to lead very different lives. As they mature and grow older, they send letters back and forth to one another, recounting their hopes, dreams, failures, and love for one another. Each character reads the letters he or she is sent, providing an emotional experience for the audience.

“Love Letters” runs from Feb. 12 to March 8 and will feature performers such as Mercury, Selena Anduze, Abigal Ellis, and Jan and Rich Grimshaw. Tickets for “Love Letters” can be purchased at the Cumming Playhouse box office located at 101 School St or on the Cumming Playhouse website.
