- A Cumming woman has reported her husband to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office for alleged bigamy. The unidentified woman told a deputy that, while pursuing a divorce from her husband, her attorney had discovered an active marriage license from 2007 between the man and another woman. Felony bigamy can carry a sentence of between one and 10 years in the state of Georgia. (Appen Media)
- The Northside Hospital Forsyth Vertical Expansion was recognized as a first-place winner in the prestigious Build Georgia Awards. The Associated General Contractors of Georgia annually issues the award to recognize member construction firms for outstanding achievements in construction. To qualify, projects must have been completed in Georgia in 2021. (EIN News)
- Six Forsyth County high school graduates were awarded scholarships last week by the Cumming Chapter 1030 of the Vietnam Veterans of America. The 2022 giveaway totaled $2,500 in scholarships and marked the organization's seventh annual scholarship award. This year's winners were Samantha Mehler, Allison Norris, Evan Skrip, Cassidee Jackson, Dakota Jacks, and Liam Cassidy. (Appen Media)
- The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Forsyth County through this Friday, Jun. 17. Temperatures are expected to reach between 100 and 105 degrees, and scattered thunderstorms are also possible.
