CUMMING, GA — A 55-year-old man from Cumming was killed Tuesday when his van flew off the road and hit a tree.
John Edward Parker was driving south on Wright Bridge Road north of Ascot Drive at about 9 a.m. when his 2009 GMC Savana van crossed over a solid yellow double line into the northbound lane, said Forsyth County Sheriff's Office traffic specialist DFC Andy Ives.
The van left the roadway and hit a large tree head-on, Ives said. Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.
