McDonald's Recalls Happy Meal Toy; Choking Hazard Reported

McDonald’s is recalling a popular Happy Meal toy because of a choking hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reports.

The Hello Kitty whistle consists of a Hello Kitty figure and a whistle. The figure can be opened to reveal the whistle, and children can swallow parts inside the whistle and choke on them. McDonald’s has already received reports of two such incidents. One child who sucked part of the whistle through his or her mouth needed medical attention.

Parents should immediately return the whistle to their nearest McDonald’s store for a replacement toy and either a bag of apple slices or a yogurt tube.
