Fugitive May Have Stolen Car in Forsyth County
The fugitive, Eric J. Coe, 20, walked off a work release detail earlier this week and remains at large.

A man imprisoned in Monroe County who walked off a work release detail earlier this week is believed to have now stolen two vehicles, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday.
Eric J. Coe, 20, slipped away from his work release program on Wednesday, and is now a suspect in the theft of a vehicle in Lamar County. That vehicle has since been located in Forsyth County on Settingdown Road.
However, police also reported another stolen vehicle on Settingdown Road Thursday evening. The vehicle is described as a black Ford Ranger XLT extended cab with tag number PHG3977. The Ranger has front-end damage to the hood, grill and front bumper, along with a center rear passenger corner panel.

Coe has a prior arrest history that includes theft and burglary, and was approximately halfway through a 120-day boot camp program in Monroe County.
The sheriff’s office confirmed deputies have increased patrols throughout the county, and officers are attempting to con act anyone associated with Coe.

Anyone found to be aiding Coe or assisting in harboring this fugitive will be dealt with accordingly and charged to the full extent of the law.
