Is This The Most Romantic Restaurant in Georgia?

Open Table has named its 100 Most Romantic Restaurants for 2017 and one Georgia spot made the list.

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA — A Georgia restaurant near Lake Lanier is the state's lone entry on a new list of the nation's most romantic restaurants.

Antebellum, in Flowery Branch, was named one of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America For 2017 by OpenTable, the online restaurant reservation site.

The list, according to OpenTable, "honors the seductive spots at which couples are creating connections and savoring delicious memories."

Serving contemporary Southern cuisine, Antebellum was opened in 2012 in Flowery Branch's downtown historic district by owners Nicholas and Alison St. Clair.

Set in an 1890s-style home, the restaurant features a wrap-around porch and the dining area is candlelit with lanterns.

Its seasonal menu is sourced from local farms and offers what the St. Clairs call "traditional dishes with a twist."

"The Antebellum-style home has been well-restored and makes for a romantic, candle-lit setting," reads one review of Antebellum on OpenTable. "The noise does reverberate off the walls a bit, so the louder patrons easily created a din. However, the impeccable service, well-rounded wine list, ambiance, and incredible food more than made up for the moderate noise level.

"The modern twist on Southern classics is creative and beautifully presented. Our server was amazing and she did a wonderful job recommending our wine choices. I would certainly recommend for anyone looking for somewhere to celebrate an anniversary or other special occasion."

Restaurants making the OpenTable Top 100 were listed in alphabetical order and not ranked 1-100.
