- The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners named David McKee the new county manager effective Dec. 16. McKee takes over following the departure of current County Manager Kevin Tanner. McKee has served in the position of assistant county manager since April 2021. In the role, McKee has overseen operations of the County's Engineering, Recycling & Solid Waste, Fleet Services, Water & Sewer, Public Transportation and Public Facilities departments. He also has served as the executive manager for all transportation related activities and responsibilities and is the County's key contact with the Georgia Department of Transportation. - West Forsyth High School running back Peyton Streko announced on his Twitter feed that he received an offer to play football at Clemson University. A 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior, Streko was committed to Air Force but reopened his recruitment two months ago. "It was electric, everything from the go-ahead score to the game-winning atmosphere," he told The Clemson Insider after the Syracuse game on Oct. 22. "The fans were in the game the whole time and it was loud. It's definitely a culture I'd love to play for." (The Clemson Insider)
