North Forsyth Senior Wins Farmers Market Bag Design Contest

Senior Lauren Varga will receive a $2,000 scholarship, and her artwork will be printed on 1,500 canvas bags to be handed out at the market.

CUMMING, GA — A design created by a North Forsyth High School senior will soon be seen by thousands of people.

COUNTRY Financial and The Roswell Farmers and Artisans Market recently announced the winners of their bag design contest. The 2019 reusable bag designed by North Forsyth High School Senior Lauren Varga was unveiled at the market located behind Roswell City Hall. Varga will receive a $2,000 scholarship from COUNTRY Financial, and her artwork will be printed on 1,500 canvas bags to be handed out at the market.

The theme for 2019 is “Growing a Green Future.” In order to be considered, artists must have used the theme and included the phrase “2019 Roswell Farmers and Artisans Market” within their design.

The runners-up for the bag design contest are Emily Sellers, junior, Alpharetta High School, (first runner-up), and Marie Latif, freshman, Cambridge High School, Cambridge High School (second runner-up. Sellers will receive a $1,000 scholarship and Latif will receive $500 from COUNTRY Financial.

COUNTRY Financial has nationally sponsored the Bag Design Contest for 13 years and this is the first sponsorship of the Roswell event.
