North Forsyth Student Faces Gun, Alcohol Charges
Authorities were tipped off to possible narcotics activity Friday near North Forsyth High School, leading to the arrest of a teen student.

CUMMING, GA — A 16-year-old North Forsyth High School student is facing alcohol and gun charges after authorities say a loaded handgun and other items were found in the student's car.
The unidentified student was arrested after someone tipped off school resource deputies about potential narcotics activity near a barn located next to the softball field, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies encountered the student suspect and searched their car, where they say the gun was found in the glovebox, authorities said. Alcohol and vape cartridges were also found, authorities said.

The student was charged on suspicion of possession of a weapon within a school safety zone and underage possession of alcohol and was taken to juvenile court for a hearing, authorities said.
No threats were made to school staff or students, authorities said.
