Our Californian Getaway: Final Installment

As sad as it is, all good things must come to an end, including our fantastic trip to sunny California.  After traipsing around San Francisco and sampling some wonderful breads, chocolates, and jelly beans, we have finally made our way to the Mecca of U.S. wine country—Napa Valley.

While we obviously made a point to try a sampling of amazing wines during our stay, as true foodies, we set our sights upon Anette’s Chocolates, which is an award winning confectionary shop that makes a marvelous assortment of fine truffles, creams, brittles, and chews, as well as chocolate and caramel sauces. 

Winning an abundance of Sofi awards for their delectable brittles—with their tequila chili lime tortilla brittle being one of the main champions—since 2004, this family business was started 19 years ago by a brother (Brent) and sister (Anette) team who have perfected their family’s 70-year-old recipes.

Here at Gratitude Goodies, we’ve been excited to introduce Anette’s products to our customers through our deluxe wine pairing basket, as well as our beer and margarita baskets, so it was a particular thrill to get the opportunity to see their operation up close.

Still, as much as we would like to remain in California for an even longer stay, reality calls and we need to venture back to Georgia.  Even so, our trip has been a fantastic foray into the heart of some of this country’s greatest food troves and we couldn’t be happier to include so many of our finds in our baskets.
