Pinecrest Academy Expands its Campus
Pinecrest Academy recently held a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for a new building and gymnasium on its 68-acre campus.
Pinecrest Academy hosted a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for its new Lower School Activities Building and Gymnasium last week.
The ceremony was held in front of the building and the ribbon was collectively cut by Fr. Robert Presutti, LC, Head of School; Doug Tollett, Chairman of the Board of Directors and his wife Brenda; Madeliene Flanagan, Principal of the Lower and Middle Schools; MyThi Huynh, the teacher who has taught in the Lower School the longest; and Andy Barfield, Project Manager for New South Construction.
A welcome address was given by Fr. Presutti and Fr. Dominic Pham, LC, Pinecrest Academy’s Chaplain, blessed the new building in front of about 550 attendees, including families, students, faculty, staff, and Pinecrest Board Members.

Following the ribbon cutting, the key to the building was officially handed to Fr. Presutti. A reception was held inside the new building and students were invited to sign banners hanging on the walls as a remembrance of the opening day.
The Lower School campus will eventually consist of five permanent buildings constructed in different phases for cost effectiveness and to minimize disruption on the 68-acre campus. The John Paul II Lower School Activities Building, which began in March, was the first phase in this construction process. The building includes a gym, stage, restrooms and coaches offices.
