CUMMING, GA — State Rep. Sheri Gilligan (R-Cumming) recently received the 2019 Award for Conservative Excellence by the American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF). Gilligan was presented with the award during a ceremony on Friday, Oct. 11.
“It was an incredible honor to receive this award from the ACUF, and I commend this important foundation for holding Georgia’s elected officials accountable to the constituents they represent,” Gilligan said. “As we prepare for the 2020 legislative session, I encourage my conservative colleagues at the State Capitol to reflect on our core values and to hold fast to our commitment to producing fiscally, socially and ethically responsible legislation.”
The ACUF honored Gilligan for maintaining a 90 percent “ranking” for her voting record during the 2019 legislative session. Additionally, she was the only Georgia state legislator to receive this year’s award.
