River Revival Rocks Terminal West for Atlanta's Chattahoochee Riverkeeper
GreenHouse Foundation and IS Foundation received the 2014 River Rock Star awards.
Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK) and friends celebrated the nonprofit's dedication to the environment during a special re-invention of its River Revival May 8.
For the first time, the concert took place at West Midtown's Terminal West venue, and engaged a younger eco-minded crowd. Last year, the event went on hiatus.
For the price of $25, CRK treated attendees to three popular bands: The New Mastersounds, Jeff Austin and Turkuaz. The organization also hosted a raffle with four prizes, including a kayak and a beer-tasting at Ormsby's.
In addition to the live bands, CRK also honored two organizations with River Rock Star awards. GreenHouse Foundation, founded by CeeLo Green and his sister, Shedonna Alexander, and IS Foundation, founded by actor Ian Somerhalder, were both honored.
Proceeds from the event, including the raffle, will be funneled back into CRK's programs to protect and advocate for the Chattahoochee River.
