Running With Elvis 5K Takes Over West Bank Park Saturday

West Bank Park will host the Running With Elvis 5K, Fun Run, and Tot Trot on Saturday morning, Sept. 13.

According to active.com, race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and costs $30 for the 5K and $25 for the fun run. There is no cost to register for the tot trot. Proceeds from the event will go to supporting programs at North Lanier Christian Academy.

The fun run begins at 8:00 a.m., and the 5K kicks off 15 minutes later. The tot trot starts at 9:15 a.m. 5K participants who dress as The King will get a 20 second head start.

The race course is described as flat, fast, and scenic. All 5 kilometers of the course are contained within West Bank Park and front the shores of Lake Lanier.

Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers and the top three finishers of each of the age groups. Age groups start at 10 and under and are separated by 5 years, with 65 and older being the most “senior” category.

All race participants are automatically eligible for free entry into the Five Star Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, while the best 5K runners can earn a spot in the 5K championships on Dec. 20.
