FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Salata has signed on to join the mix of retailers and restaurants coming to Halcyon in Forsyth County, RocaPoint Partners announced Tuesday. Known for its fresh take on the traditional salad bar, customizable bowls and wraps with the option of adding over 50 ingredients and signature dressings, the fast-casual concept is slated to occupy 2,800 square feet with 55 seats located across from CMX Cinebistro and between Popbar and CT Cantina Taqueria. As the brand’s 10th location in metro Atlanta and first introduction to Forsyth County, Salata at Halcyon is projected to open in the first quarter of 2020.

The salad kitchen has experienced tremendous success as the fast-casual industry shifts to incorporate more clean food-based menus, with plant-based market rising 17 percent in dollar sales in 2018, according to The Good Food Institute. Since opening in Houston, Texas. in 2005, Salata entered Georgia at Atlantic Station in 2017, followed by additional restaurants in downtown Atlanta, Peachtree Corners, Johns Creek, Alpharetta and Marietta. With more than 85 locations nationwide, the fast-rising franchise chain plans to operate 20 locations in the greater Atlanta area by 2022.

“With the development’s high walkability and connection to the Big Creek Greenway, Halcyon is thoughtfully designed to celebrate an active lifestyle and personal wellbeing. Salata’s focus on providing healthy, quick options that can be enjoyed in a modern, convenient setting complements our vision for the community,” said Phil Mays, Principal at RocaPoint Partners. “We’re thrilled to welcome the first Salata location to Forsyth County.”

Earlier this year, Salata unveiled its first rebrand and restaurant redesign, adding a contemporary finish to the exterior and interior styles of its portfolio to better showcase its offerings and align with consumer tastes. Salata also plans to roll out a second phase of its rebrand later this summer with delivery, a new tech suite and loyalty program/app, all designed to make the guest experience more convenient and more rewarding.

“We identify strongly with Halcyon’s efforts to advance health and wellness and are confident Salata will be a positive addition to that initiative,” said Jeff Hunter, Vice President of Operations at Henry Investment Group which operates Salata in the Atlanta market. “As we continue to break down the barriers to fresh, nutrient-filled food, it’s important to seek out spaces that are driven by a desire to build a connection. With our shared interest in community investment, Halcyon is an ideal home for Salata to amplify our goal of providing welcoming atmospheres for eating well.”
