Scam Alert: Caller Pretends To Be From Sheriff's Office

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has reported that numerous residents received scam calls Monday evening about jury duty.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has reported that numerous residents received calls Monday evening identifying themselves as “Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department.”

According to the sheriff's office, the recording will even give you a menu to choose from. Once you choose a number, a person will advise you to get a Green Dot money card to satisfy an outstanding jury duty obligation issue.This is a scam.

Calls come from the number 770-203-2754. Sheriff Ron Freeman and others have already called the number. This is a pre-paid phone number. The Forsyth County Government reminds the pubic it will never ask for fines to be paid in such a way
