Shady Grove Campground Open For Visitors
The Lake Lanier campground's sites can be reserved online for the first time this year.
CUMMING, GA -- Springtime means Shady Grove Campground on Lake Lanier is open again for business.
Forsyth County folks looking for a chance to get out in nature won't have to go far to spend some nights at the campground, which opened Friday for the 2016 season.
Matthew Pate, of Forsyth County Parks and Recreation, says visitors will find some new offerings this year.

"Shady Grove Campground grows in popularity every year," Pate said in a news release. "This year visitors will notice updated landscaping and new signage, as well as renovated group campsites."
For the first time this year, campers will be able to reserve campsites online, too. Reservations may be made up to 30 days in advance, and can also be made at the campground visitor center.

The 109-acre campground features more than 110 campsites. Amenities at the campground include a beach and swimming area, boat ramp with courtesy dock, group campsites and picnic shelters, a playground, tent camping areas and campsites with water and power hookups.
Shady Grove Campground is located at 7800 Allyn Lane Memorial Way in Cumming.
It will be open for the 2016 season through November 7.
