Sheriff's Deputies Arrest Identity Thieves Picking up Loot

An eagle-eyed citizen noticed something amiss in his neighborhood and flagged down law enforcement.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested two people who allegedly stole credit cards, then drove to victims’ houses to retrieve items they had purchased with the pilfered plastic.

A Sheriff’s Office Facebook post claims that a resident who had seen an earlier news report about packages being stolen off porches in Forsyth County flagged down a sheriff’s deputy when he noticed a suspicious vehicle in his neighborhood on Tuesday.

Deputies then found another nearby resident, who said that his credit card had been stolen and used to purchase thousands of dollars of goods, which were now being delivered to the home, the Sheriff’s Office says. Deputies say that the suspicious vehicle was in the neighborhood to pick up the packages.
