Sheriff's Office Holding Public Safety Meeting for Special Needs Residents on Wednesday

The event will be held at the public safety complex on Sept. 10, and allows special needs residents to interact with deputies.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is inviting county residents with special needs to attend its monthly SNAPS (Special Needs Awareness of Public Safety) meeting at the county’s public safety complex on Settingdown Road on the evening of Sept. 10.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and will feature Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office school resource officers and K9 deputies. The meeting will allow those with special needs a chance to meet these public safety employees and learn more about what they do and how they serve and protect the Forsyth community.

According to the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, SNAPS meetings can consist of classes, scenarios, and simulations of emergency situations. Special needs residents can participate in the events or simply watch and learn. All attendees are invited to meet with the public safety personnel at the meeting and get to know them better.
