FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — During their meeting on Jan. 9, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognized South Forsyth Middle School sixth-grade student Saanvi Warke for winning the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District’s Water Essay Contest.

Warke’s essay, titled “Value Water, Conserve Water, Saves Lives,” described a personal example of how much water her family uses every day and her deeper appreciation for clean water. Her essay also included ways everyone can conserve water and help their community.

“Writing this essay has helped me gain a lot of knowledge about water management and its impact on our local water supply,” Warke said. “I am honored to be given the opportunity to bring more attention to water conservation and inspire others to learn more about saving water. Water is priceless, as described by the famous oceanographer Sylvia Earle, ‘No water, no life, no blue, no green!’”
